User Defined Data

The User Defined Data section of Name Segmenter refers to the User Defined Fields feature in Denari. They are fields that you can create to hold information that Denari does not already have a place for. The filter fields here allow you to produce a list of names based on those UDF fields that you create. For more information, check out the section on User Defined Fields.

This filter section allows you to use up to two UDF fields as filters. Remember, all filters in a Name Segment are optional. Expand the User Defined Data section and check the 'Use User Data' check box.

UDF Field

Select one of the pre-defined User Data fields from the drop down list. For more info see the section on User Defined Fields.
2

Low & High Values

Enter the Low and High Values for your filter. For example, if you have set up a User Defined Field to store the Blood Type of each of your donors you can select that field from the previous drop down field. Now enter 'A' in the Low Value field and 'O' in the High Value field. That will then give you a list of names with the blood types alphabetically from A to O. The values in the fields in the filter must be spelled in the same way as the values in the UDF fields. To get names with a blood type of A, in this example, enter A in both low and high fields.

Name Segmenter will output UDF fields in the Excel ouput. See the section on Output for more information.

Reminder: No filters in a name segment are required. If you use more than one filter there is an AND operator between them. The same is true with User Defined Data fields. If you use both filters both the name record must have both criteria to be in the output, field 1 AND field 2.
