Power Tracker
Power Tracker is a mass mailing tool designed to segment categories of name records in your data. For more information see the Power Tracker section. It is important to know that all of your donors are on one of the Power Tracker tracks, even if you aren't using Power Tracker. One of the basic rules about a name segment is that you start with all names selected. Since all names are on a track then, a new segment has all of the tracks included or checked.
Click to expand the Power Tracker section.
Again, another reminder, all filters in a name segment are optional. If you don't need to use one or more of the Power Tracker tracks shown here you don't need to check or uncheck any boxes. But, let's say you want to do a mailing to everyone the Contributor track. Uncheck all of the tracks except for that track and your output will be limited to just that group. To get a list of names of people on the Contributor OR Lapsed Contributor Tracks, uncheck all of the boxes except those two.
Notice the use of the OR operator here among the tracks. A name record will appear in the output if they are either on the Contributor Track or the Lapsed Contributor Track.
However, the AND operator is still in affect between the other filters. For example, if you uncheck all of the boxes except for Contributor Track, select a Zip Code, and select a Classification, there will be an AND operator between them. A name record must match all three filters to appear in the output from the name segment.
