Gifts

All gifts entered into Denari are entered as a batch or grouping of gifts. There are several different types of gift records; Credit Card gifts, Electronic Fund Transfer or EFT gifts, and checks or cash. Denari has the ability to automatically create gift records for CCs and EFTs that re-occur periodically, like monthly. But in this section we will focus on those gifts that are entered manually by a staff person. Usually those gifts come in the form of checks or cash, although you do have the ability to enter a CC gift manually which we will discuss in the section.

 

The process that Denari uses to create gift records from on-going pledges or commitments will be covered in the section on Pledges. A separate section covers Credit Card and Electonic Fund Transfer donations.

 

Denari also has the ability to record gift-in-kind donations and gifts on behalf of another person. That will be covered in the Gift Entry section. Finally, Denari gives you the ability to upload gifts from an Excel spreadsheet. Gifts that come from another source or donations for the same amount made by the same persons each month are examples and can be uploaded quicky into a batch and that is covered in Gift Import.
