Alternate Addresses

The alternate address page is a place to store extra addresses for a name record. It also gives you the ability to mark addresses to make them automatically become the primary address during specific months so that donors can continue to receive mail from you.

 

Go to the Names link on the left/Name List Management/and select a name. From there you will click the Alt. Addresses link on the right. Here we see a list of alternate addresses for this name record. Denari stores the primary address here as well so you’ll always see that here too. To add a new address, click the Add New button in the upper right.

 

 

Fill out the name and address information as you normally would for a name record. The only difference here is the Description field at the top. Here you will enter something that describes this address like “Winter Address”, “Business Address”, etc.

 

You can also Standardize the address just as you would the primary address.

 

In the bottom section you can check the boxes for the months of the year that you want this address to be primary.

 

 

During those months, Denari will swap the addresses so that any mail that is sent will be sent to this address. If you check nothing here, the primary address back in the name record will always be used and this record just becomes a place to store a second or third address. And, by the way, you can have as many alternates as you want.

 

You can also manually swap the addresses if needed. Simply click the ‘Make Current Address’ in the Quick Actions section of the right sidebar. The alternate will now become the primary.

 

One last field to point out...Go to the Gear icon at the top and select Set Up under the My Account column. Near the top on the right you will find the ‘Auto Swap Alt. Addresses’ check box. When that is checked Denari will automatically swap the alternate addresses according to the months selected as just described. If it is unchecked it will not. Some Denari users prefer to have greater control over when the addresses swap so you can uncheck the box and do that manually.
