Quick Reports
Quick Reports are intended to be the most simple form of reports. They require almost no thinking to produce. If they give you the information you need, you don't need to look any further in the reporting process. Click on Reports on the left, then Quick Reports and Quick Reports again.
The Descriptions tell you what they are and the filters are built into the report. For example, If you want to see a summary of your donations by Appeal code for last year, go to the Gift Summary by Appeal section and click on Last Year. These Quick Reports run immediately on your screen in a service called Reporting Services.
The format can’t be changed but you do have a choice of outputs. Just click the little Diskette icon at the top and select your output choice, PDF and Excel are probably the two most common.
Some of the reporting services reports like this one have a drill down capability. When you see data that is underlined like the codes in column one, that tells you that you can get more information. In this case, there were 10 gifts given to the General appeal code. If you want to find out about those 10 codes, click the code link to get a different report showing each of those 10 gifts.
So Quick Reports are one click reports and if they meets your needs your are done. But if you need a different type of information or want to apply different filters then the Basic Reports might meet your needs.
